Information we collect

Device and browsing information. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect your browser type and version, IP address, approximate location, time zone, cookie identifiers, the pages and products you view, search terms, how you arrived at the Site and how you interact with it. We collect this through cookies, pixels, tags, log files and similar technologies.

Order and subscription information. When you buy or subscribe, we collect your name, billing and shipping addresses, email address, phone number, order details and subscription preferences. Payments are handled by our payment processors (Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal). We do not store full card numbers.

Customer support information. When you contact us, we collect your name, email address, order number and anything you choose to tell us. Please do not send medical records or detailed health information by email. We do not need it to help you.

Marketing preferences. If you sign up for email updates, we collect your email address and record your consent and preferences.

How we use your information

  • To process orders and subscriptions, take payment, ship products, and send confirmations, invoices and shipping updates.
  • To manage subscriptions, including renewal reminders and changes or cancellations you request.
  • To answer questions and provide customer support, including our money-back guarantee.
  • To screen orders for fraud and keep the Site secure.
  • To understand how the Site is used and improve it.
  • To send marketing emails if you have opted in. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To show you LITMUS ads on other websites and apps, as described under "Advertising and analytics."
  • To comply with the law and protect our rights.

How we share your information

We share personal information with service providers who help us run the business, and only for the purposes above:

  • Shopify hosts our store and processes checkout and payments. See Shopify's Privacy Policy.
  • Recharge manages subscriptions and recurring billing. See Recharge's Privacy Policy.
  • Payment providers (Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal) process your payment.
  • Shipping carriers and fulfillment partners pack and deliver your order.
  • Email service providers send order, subscription and marketing emails.
  • Advertising and analytics partners, including Meta and Google, as described below.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, in response to a subpoena, court order or other lawful request, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, sale or transfer of our business.

Advertising and analytics

We use the Meta Pixel and Conversions API (Facebook and Instagram) and Google tags (Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google & YouTube) to measure our ads and show LITMUS ads to people who have visited the Site. These partners collect information about your activity on the Site, such as pages viewed, items added to cart and purchases, and may combine it with information from other websites and apps.

You can opt out of targeted advertising:

You can also opt out on our Your Privacy Choices page. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as an opt-out of sale and sharing for that browser.

Sale and sharing of personal information

We do not sell personal information for money. Under some U.S. state privacy laws, including California's, letting advertising partners collect information through cookies and pixels for cross-context behavioral advertising can count as "selling" or "sharing." In the past 12 months we have shared identifiers (such as cookie IDs and IP address) and internet activity (such as pages viewed and purchases) with Meta and Google for that purpose. You can opt out at any time using the links above. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the state you live in, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information and of targeted advertising.
  • Appeal a decision we make about your request.

To make a request, email info@takelitmus.com. We will verify your identity by matching details you give us, such as your email address and an order number, and respond within the time the law requires. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that the agent has your permission. To appeal a decision, reply to our response with "Appeal" in the subject line. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.

Automated decision-making

We do not make decisions about you using fully automated processing that has legal or similarly significant effects. Shopify uses limited automated tools to prevent fraud, such as temporarily blocking IP addresses or cards linked to repeated failed transactions.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies that are needed for the store to work (for example, your cart and checkout), cookies that help us understand how the Site is used, and advertising cookies from our partners. Shopify lists the cookies it sets on its cookie page.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking cookies may stop parts of the Site, such as the cart, from working. Blocking cookies may not stop all sharing with advertising partners; use the opt-out options above as well.

Do Not Track. There is no common industry standard for "Do Not Track" signals, so we do not change our practices when we receive one. We do honor Global Privacy Control, as described above.

Data retention

We keep order and transaction records for as long as needed to fulfill orders, provide support and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. We keep marketing information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. When we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, and payments are processed by PCI-compliant providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Site and our products are intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at info@takelitmus.com and we will delete it.

Where we operate

We are based in the United States and ship only to U.S. addresses. Your information is processed and stored in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or to the law. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
